TH Architecture is a Kansas-based architecture practice focused on residential design. We design new homes, additions, and renovations around the people who live in them, the places they occupy, and the details that make a house feel like it belongs.
We also take on select small-scale commercial and retail projects.
Featured Project
House Study No. 1 - Unbuilt Concept
A study in simple forms and honest materials, shaped by the existing terrain and solar orientation. The design explores how a home can accommodate everyday needs through thoughtful planning rather than additional square footage. South-facing windows bring natural light deep into the first floor, while the kitchen combines cooking and dining in one functional space, providing room to gather without the need for a separate dining room.

Wooded Residence - Exterior Visualization
Set within a heavily wooded rural site, the home is nestled among the trees to maintain a strong connection to nature. Natural materials and a restrained color palette help the architecture settle into its surroundings.

The wood-burning fireplace is given its own place within the living room, grounding the space and creating a distinct point of interest. Rather than combining the fireplace and television on a single wall, the layout allows each to serve its purpose without competing for attention.

The existing home’s tired, inefficient layout led to a full renovation and addition to better serve the family’s needs. The goal was to make the new spaces feel as though they had always been part of the original home—integrated so naturally that the house feels more complete than before.

As one example of the larger renovation, this bright, functional dining room emerged from a complete reconfiguration of the home’s layout. What was once a dark, undersized living room now has a new purpose, with natural light and space to comfortably gather around the table.

The sunroom brings ample natural light into the home while offering a comfortable place to relax and enjoy views of the outdoors. Connected to the main living areas, it functions as a natural extension of the home’s everyday spaces.
An Approach to Residential Design
Every home starts with a different set of circumstances: the people who will live there, the property itself, and the needs the house must meet.
I approach residential design by bringing those pieces together. The site informs the placement and orientation of the home. The needs of the household shape the layout. And the architecture brings it all together through form, material, light, and the relationships between spaces.
The goal isn't simply to fit everything in. It's to make the most of what matters, with a home that feels cohesive, functions well, and belongs where it stands.
